Social Learning, Shared Costs

Learning Pods are a fantastic way to access specialist tuition at a fraction of the cost. Prices are calculated per student based on the Total Group Size (including the Host Family's child).

1. Host Family Incentives

To say thank you for providing the venue (and the heating!), Host Families receive a significant discount:

  • Group of 3: Host pays 50% fees.

  • Group of 4: Host pays 50% fees.

  • Group of 5+: Host goes FREE.

2. Pricing Table (Per Student)

  • Sibling Discount: 10% off for siblings attending the same group.

  • Community Access: For groups of 3 or more, a Community Rate may be available for one student. Please contact me to discuss.

3. Group Policies (The Important Bit)

To keep these low rates sustainable, group bookings operate differently from one-to-one tuition:

  • Commitment: A minimum booking of 4 sessions is required to join a pod.

  • Absences: Because the group rate relies on shared costs, fees are non-refundable if your child misses a session (even for illness). The session will proceed for the rest of the group.

4. Host Cancellation Policy

1. Emergency / Illness (less than 48 hours)

If the Host Family cannot provide the venue due to illness or a sudden emergency:

  • Plan A (Backup Host): We will first ask if the nominated "Backup Host" family can step in. If they are available, the session runs as normal at the new location.

  • Plan B (Rollover): If no backup is available, the session will be cancelled for that week. We will simply miss that week and the block booking will automatically extend by one week (e.g., a session booked for the 12th will move to the 19th).

2. Non-Emergency / Choice Cancellations (The 48-Hour Rule)

If the Host Family cancels the venue for a non-emergency reason (e.g., appointments, day trips) with less than 48 hours' notice:

  • The Session: The session is cancelled and rolled over to the next week for everyone. This ensures the group finishes the course together.

  • The Penalty: Because the cancellation was short-notice, the Host Family will be charged a "Late Cancellation Fee" equal to one session's cost.

    • Note: This fee must be paid before the final session of the block.
