Individual specialist support

Safe, Adaptive, and Child-Led Learning in Bristol

Finding the right support for a child who finds education difficult can be exhausting. Whether your child has a specific diagnosis like PDA or Autism, or simply needs a learning environment that moves at their pace, I am here to help.

I am a fully qualified teacher with over 12 years of experience specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN). My practice is built on a simple truth: A regulated child can learn anything.

My Approach: Connection Before Content

I specialise in working with children with Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) and anxiety-based school avoidance.

I move away from the pressure of the traditional classroom to offer a "Low Demand" approach.

  • Safety First: We prioritise emotional regulation. If a child is anxious, we stop and reset.

  • Interest-Led: I weave curriculum targets into the child’s existing interests, making learning feel relevant and engaging rather than forced.

  • Flexible: Some days we might sit at a table; other days we might learn on the floor or outdoors.

Who I Work With

While my expertise lies in complex SEN, my teaching style benefits any learner who feels lost in the school system.

  • SEN & PDA: Highly specialised support for neurodivergent profiles.

  • School Recovery: Gentle confidence building for children recovering from school trauma.

  • Home Education Support: Academic structuring for families who want a qualified hand to guide their journey.

Pricing & Solidarity

I believe high-quality support should be accessible to the Bristol Home Ed community. To make this possible, I operate a tiered pricing structure (Standard, Pay-It-Forward, and Community rates). This allows us to support each other while ensuring the service remains sustainable.

Invest in Specialist Support

My fees reflect the expertise of a qualified teacher with 12 + years of SEN experience, including specialist support for PDA, Autism, and anxiety-based school avoidance.

I operate a Solidarity Pricing Model. I trust families to choose the tier that fits their financial circumstances, allowing us to support each other as a community.

1. Fee Structure (Per Hour)

  • Pay It Forward (£55): For families who can afford to subsidize access for others.

  • Standard Rate (£45): The sustainable market rate for specialist tuition.

  • Community Rate (£30): A reduced rate to ensure accessibility. (Please note: These spaces are currently limited/waitlist only).

    • 45-minute and 30-minute sessions are available pro-rata.

2. Block Booking Discounts

To reward consistency and commitment, discounts are applied when sessions are paid for in advance:

  • Half-Term Block (approx. 6 weeks): 5% Discount.

  • Full-Term Block (approx. 12 weeks): 10% Discount.

3. Travel Costs

Travel is charged per visit (round trip) from my base in St Werburghs.

  • Time Surcharge: Locations more than a 30-minute drive (one way) incur a flat £5.00 fee.

4. Policies & Stability

  • Price Lock: To provide stability for your family, Community Rates are fixed for six months.

  • Cancellations: I require 48 hours' notice to cancel a session for a refund.

  • Emergency Pass: I understand illness happens. Every family receives one "Emergency Pass" per term to waive the late fee for a sudden emergency.
