Myth Makers

A golden coin that reads "Myth Makers Guild" glows with a blue magical light. Rune shapes glow and the tree of life can be seen in the centre.

Myth Makers is a social literacy group centred around Norse Mythology. The group operates with a minimum of four, and a maximum of six learners. This allows us to keep the environment low stimulation, and support each individual as needed.

Myth Makers is fully inclusive and open to all. The sessions are led by Nicki, a SEN teacher with over a decade of experience working with neurodiverse young people with a wide variety of needs. We can adapt the sessions to suit all abilities and needs.

Each session will feature a unique audio story, listened to on individual headsets. This audio story is available to listen to at home and each member will receive a private link to the story and learning materials to continue the adventure at home and share the magic with you.

We use visual literacy, animations with a “cool” gamer aesthetic to inspire young people and embed the characters and nine realms into their memory.

Session activities include:

  • Foley Sound Artist Recording

  • Shadow Puppetry

  • Arts and Crafts

  • Retelling through prop building and games

  • Sensory regulation activities

  • Social skills activities such as turn taking and sharing ideas

  • A range of materials and options are provided, however the young person is invited to use these materials however they are inspired to do so. Self-directed projects are encouraged and supported.

We are currently running regular groups at St Werburghs Community Centre, Bristol. Due to high demand and interest we also run this group as a Home Education Pod (Private Group) and are looking at expanding into other areas in Bristol.

To register interest in the next block (April) please fill in the contact form. We currently have two spots left in the March Squad (booking link below).

My child absolutely loved Myth Makers! He came home telling me all about the nine realms and got really into it! The audio stories we listen to at home are just fantastic!
